YAML

Supports a useful subset of YAML 1.2 — scalars, arrays, maps, multi-line strings via | and >, and # comments. Round-tripping preserves structure but not comments.

How it works

What this is: JSON is the machine-readable default (curly braces, quoted keys, commas). YAML is the human-readable one (indentation, no quotes, comments allowed). Same data, different syntax.
How it works: Typing in either box parses the input and re-emits the other side. JSON uses JSON.parse; YAML is parsed by a compact in-browser emitter/parser that handles scalars, arrays, maps, block strings (|, >), and # comments.
